At 3,375 m, the Pic Posets is the second highest mountain in the Pyrenees and is located in Spain, about three kilometers south of the French border between the Val Benasque on the Spanish side and the Valle de Pique on the French side. The ascent is quite demanding and requires a lot of perseverance. There is also snow in summer, so crampons are usually required.

The peak of Pocets, also known as Punta de Llardana, with an altitude of 3,375 m, is the second highest peak in the Pyrenees, after the Aneto (both in the province of Huesca, autonomous community of Aragon) . With a prominence of 1,125 m, in the middle of the massif, the view it offers makes it a desirable goal for many climbers.

The name Pocets seems to come from a well (posets, in Benasque) on its western slope, and this is how the peak is called in the area of Gistain (Chistau); while in Estòs and Mont d'Astos (France), the summit is called Llardana ('burnt'), due to the aridity of its east face. According to the linguist Joan Coromines, this etymology refers to Ilerditana, on the northern border of the land of the Ilergetes.

Expert mountaineers will not need to mount any emergency meeting, except in adverse conditions for storms, blizzards or for the ridge to keep frozen refrigerators and it will always be better to progress in assembly with crampons and ice ax. Beginners may need to bond at some point. At the ascent to the peak of Les Espases there is a very aerial protrusion, the exit of the Pas del Funambulista also requires attention and great care must be taken in the descent of the Tuqueta Roya through the loose rock. The ridges of the Posets keep glaciers until June and high mountain winter equipment may be needed.
