Cardada is a place and viewpoint with a restaurant (1332 m above sea level) in the Swiss canton of Ticino above the municipality of Orselina on the (1671 m above sea level) high Cimetta mountain, whose summit lies a little to the northeast and on which there is also a restaurant. It is often referred to as Locarno's local mountain.
A chairlift and three ski lifts have been built on Cimetta, which provide access to 5.4 kilometers of slopes. They were built by Ulisse Del-Grande (father of Justa Del-Grande, Swiss national ski team race). Until 1999, the ski facilities were operated by Ulisse Del-Grande as the owner; in the following years, a stock corporation was founded, which still operates the ski lifts today, provided the different snow conditions in winter allow it.

From the geological observation station on Cimetta you can see from the delta of the Maggia between Locarno and Ascona - the lowest point in Switzerland, to Monte Rosa - the highest point in Switzerland.

On the south-western edge of Cardada there is a footbridge called "Passerelle", landscaped by Paolo Bürgi, which leads between the treetops of the sloping forest to the Ponte sospeso Cardada lookout point, which offers a panoramic view of the lake, the Centovalli and part of the Maggia valley.

The area around Cardada includes several hiking trails, each of which has varying levels of difficulty. From Cardada and Cimetta, mountain hiking trails lead to the Cima della Trosa (1869 m above sea level) and the Madone (2039 m above sea level). Cardada lies between the Maggia valley and the Verzasca valley. Cardada (or Cimmetta) is therefore the ideal starting point for hikes in both valleys: to Avegno in the Maggia Valley and to Mergoscia in the Verzasca Valley.
