The neo-Gothic church was completed in 1875. The people of Kransberg owe the construction of this church to the legacy of the Frankfurt master mason and native of Kransberg Johannes Discher, who appointed his congregation as universal heir. He had earmarked a total of 20,000 guilders for building a church. After many more donations, the foundation stone was laid in 1872 and it was consecrated after three years of construction by the Limburg Bishop Blum at the time.
The organ was built in 1876, renovated in 1932 and renovated in 1995.
Another native of Kransberg, cathedral canon Walter in Limburg, made sure that the congregation from Limburg Cathedral was able to buy the valuable pulpit from 1609 - the greatest attraction inside the church - and a two-part communion bench at a reasonable price. He also donated the Joseph altar for the new church. However, the high altar had to be replaced by a new one in 1933, which is still the center of the church today.
