Ethnographic complex "Mlyn and Kuznya"
The ethnographic complex is located near the railway station. This is a small open-air museum. Wooden, museumified buildings from the beginning of the 20th century represent the everyday life of the township.
The steam mill in Zaslavl was built in 1910. This is not a dead museum exhibit - the mill can be put into operation at any time, which it regularly performed for a long time (from 1910 to 1985), reliably serving the residents of Zaslavl and its environs.
One of the objects of the exposition is “Khata Zavoznika”. Previously, those who brought in grain for grinding stayed in it - it served as an unassuming hotel in which one could find "both a table and a shelter." Like a hundred years ago, the hut still receives guests.
The wooden barn by the steam mill stands on stone foundations. Its main façade is a gallery with a balcony decorated with carvings. Inside, along the walls, there are grain bins. In the center there are boxes woven of straw, tubs of different sizes, and on the side there is a chest.
Neither village, nor town, nor city could do without a smithy. This museum will help the modern tourist to plunge into the world of this difficult "hot" craft. The smithy was brought here from the Volozhin region. She is over 80 years old.
