Very little remains of the original bridge built when the aqueduct was built. It must have been much more slender and slender, made of stone ashlars, partly collapsed and partly incorporated, it was massively reinforced in the Augustan era, with the construction of the two massive pillars in opus quadratum (approximately 13 meters long and 6 meters wide), and was then partially rebuilt during the Flavian dynasty (69-96 AD) in brick (approximately 9 meters high and 6 meters wide).
Today you can see opus reticulatum bandings in the upper part and the collapse of the piers of the arches give the bridge an even more slender appearance (total height approximately 16 metres).
The bridge, initially with a single channel in opus mixtum and entirely plastered, is accessible with speleological techniques from an overpass hole. It was completely plastered in opus signinum and with a capuchin vault, but the wall facings in opus reticulatum and brick can be seen.
The second canal, added in the Flavian age and made of brick, has almost entirely collapsed and extends on the east side. On the north side of the bridge, about 15 meters from it, hidden by thick vegetation, there are small cavities dug into the tuff which probably must have given hospitality to the workers who built the structure.
The modern name of the bridge derives from the unit of measurement of the surface in the Papal era (1 Taulella = 72 square poles) and crosses the Caipoli ditch, dug by the dry Rio. Ponte Taulella Visible remains of the arch impost and of the pylon of the ancient bridge, speco visible.
