Now Frankfurt also has a Jupiter column! It can finally catch up with other cities in the region that were considered by the Romans around 2000 years earlier!
But times have changed, and so on top of it, instead of Jupiter, a golden green-belted animal has spread. And other deviations from the Roman original can be identified. Made of red Main sandstone, the shaft of the column shows a relief that, based on the ancient tradition, can definitely be called a laurel leaf. In the local context, however, it is also reminiscent of the scales of wild beasts. A perspective that is strengthened by the presence of other green belt animals at the Tyrolean pond: namely the stair animals. All figures were designed and implemented by Andreas Rohrbach.
