The Tierpark Arche Noah Klötze is an animal park in the town of Klötze in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt.
On 1.75 hectares, around 150 animals from 20 species are kept. The focus is on native species. Red and fallow deer as well as wild boars are kept. On domestic animals and domestic animals are goats, donkeys, pigeons, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea pigs and Cameroon sheep to see. The park has a petting zoo and a playground. Admission to the zoo is free.
The park, which was run by the city of Klötze, was opened in 1964. This year, the bird cages and monkey house - occupied by rhesus monkeys - were erected as the foundation stones for the zoo. In June 2004, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary, there was a Tierparkfest. In 1966, the city began with the installation of the outdoor enclosure. Until summer 2012, two brown bears were kept. Since then they live in the Bear Forest Müritz.
In September 2013, plans were announced to rebuild and significantly expand the zoo and thus transform it into the Altmark Zoo. The stocking should, however, be limited to native species. In 2016, the 10-million-euro project was rejected and the original enthusiasm for it as "blue-eyed" characterized. A working group has been set up to deal with the future of the park. Due to non-compliance with legal regulations and scarce financial resources, a reduction of the animals is sought. The founding of a support association is intended to prevent the closure of the zoo and, for example, to increase its attractiveness with the construction of a playground.
