The shoreline of the Fenghuangdao peninsula (Chinese 凤凰 岛) is very diverse: cliffs and sandy beaches (Golden Sand Beach 金 沙滩 Jin Shatan and Silver Sand Beach 银 沙滩 Yin Shatan are the best known) alternate. In the middle part of the peninsula is the tourist center with several hotels and Beer Square for the annual beer festival held in August. North and South are (still) more natural and the road is less busy there. However, the peninsular is currently being developed touristically: old villages have already been demolished, a circulating bike path is being planned. That's why not all bank areas are visible but disappeared behind fences (October 2017).
