    The Gauertalhaus is not just a restaurant with outstanding cuisine and a fantastic location - the refuge is the first certified organic by Naturfreunde Austria. That means the best regional food with a lot of dedication for hungry hikers. Enjoy the meal!

        Finest organic food and cheese from the Kristelhof. We ate a Kaiserschmarren here, which we fortunately shared. The portion was so huge that we would otherwise have rolled down the hill. Nice place to rest.

                A farm run purely on organic products. To kneel in, goulash from willow beef with homemade spaetzle and a wonderfully garnished salad plate.
                Highly recommended the sausage and ham products that are made.

                        Before you descend the last few meters to the middle station, you can get some refreshments here. The elderberry spritzer is super delicious. You can also buy organic goods from the Kristahof here, e.g. delicious mountain cheese or Mostbröckli

                                You can also stay overnight here and enjoy excellent cuisine in the morning and evening with half-board. Allergies and other special dietary requirements are taken into account, and for those with lactose intolerance, for example, the Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) is sometimes made with oat milk.
                                Very friendly staff, and a bit more comfortable than the huts higher up.
