    On the information board here - and as you can see for yourself here - people are partly aiming for a piece of heath. That may seem strange for this region, but it really isn't. The sign explains why (tip: the signs look alike in this area, but the text often differs). On the Dutch side (not where we were but nearby) is also a piece of heathland.

        The Teuverberg is a beautiful nature reserve with narrow hiking trails along steep slopes. In wet weather, the hiking trails on and around the Teuverberg are very swampy. Good footwear required!

          This forest reserve is only a small part of a much larger forest area that stretches between the Gulp valley and the plateau. The largest part of Teuvenderberg consists of private forests and crosses both language and national borders. The forest reserve itself houses historical, indigenous deciduous forests. Except in a few specific areas, nature is given the space to develop freely here, and virtually no management measures are taken anymore.
