    The market square in Bad Doberan is centrally located near the town hall and the "Kamp" river, forming the heart of the old town. Surrounded by neoclassical buildings, it serves as an important meeting place for the town. The weekly market is held here regularly (Thursdays and Saturdays) with fresh food, flowers, and regional products. The square is also used for events such as the Christmas market. Despite its late granting of town charter (1879), the market has a long tradition as a meeting place and, through its architecture and planned improvements, such as water features, lends the town a special flair.

              The market square in Bad Doberan is one of the oldest urban centers in the city and was planned and laid out under Grand Duke Friedrich Franz I. It is considered a central historical square that served not only as a trading center but also as a representative site for the city's development. It was designed in the neoclassical style by the important architect Carl Theodor Severin, who also played a key role in the development of the summer residence in Heiligendamm.
