    A short stop is definitely a must. Here it is worth trying the homemade blackberry products such as liqueur, spirit and ice cream and possibly taking a small bottle home as a souvenir.

              This place above Leutesdorf is also a worthwhile destination with a great view of the Rhine Valley - a delight for me as a Rhinelander. The place to stop for refreshments is obviously well known - the prices there are "a bit tight" - and on weekends, if the weather is good, it will certainly be full of visitors.

                In the "Brombeerschenke" in the Westerwald, located alone above Leutesdorf, one of the local specialties on offer is "Rebellenblut". This is a wine made from blackberries. It is also available in the foothills (between Bonn and Cologne), but this is where it originated. The two producers fought in court over the right to the name, but both were allowed to keep the name.
