The Ammer is a 22 km long left tributary of the upper Neckar in Baden-Württemberg.

The name comes from the Celtic word "amra", which means "water", among other things. The Ammer originates from five springs southwest of Herrenberg in the Böblingen district. From there, the Ammer flows through the valley named after it on the southern edge of the Schönbuch Nature Park as well as the Gültstein district and the community of Ammerbuch, joins the Goldersbach in the Lustnau district of the university town of Tübingen and flows into the upper Neckar from the left a little later in Lustnau. On its 22.5 km course, the Ammer falls by around 94 meters.
