The museum has been run by the non-profit association "De Bockwindmüel" e.V. since 1963. Numerous citizens from Münster and the wider Emsland and Münsterland regions continue to support the museum and contribute to keeping it alive and developing it further.

Take a journey back in time to the world of our ancestors. Experience how people in Münsterland and Emsland once lived, resided, and worked. Explore farmhouses, workshops, the old school, and other buildings. Stroll through the farm gardens and unwind in the café.
Right on the edge of town, in the local recreation area around Lake Aasee, around 30 large and small buildings from the past 400 years await you on our grounds. Most of them are original structures that were relocated from their former locations to the mill farm. Other buildings have been reconstructed based on older models.
