Formerly known as Big Falls, Elk River Falls is a fifty foot tall waterfall with a pool of water big enough to swim in at the bottom. There is plenty of open rock to lay out towels on, and the falls are a short walking distance from the car. This is a popular spot in Pisgah National Forest, as the falls hold water year round.
