The Gschwandtkopf reservoir (also known as the "Gschwandtkopf Reservoir" or "Gschwandtkopf Lake") is located just below the summit of the Gschwandtkopf mountain near Seefeld/Mösern and serves as a central snowmaking reservoir for the region's slopes and some cross-country ski trails. Its reservoir elevation is approximately 1,452 m above sea level, with a storage capacity of approximately 110,000–112,000 m³ (built in 2017–2018).
Swimming is prohibited. Access in summer is on foot (including circular tours from Seefeld/Mösern) or via cable car. Panoramic views are available on site, including the Hohe Munde mountain; the lake is a popular photo opportunity.
Technically, the reservoir supplies approximately 100 linked snow cannons in winter; tourism and operator information indicates a snow/water output in the hundreds of liters per second range.
Beautiful with panoramic views!
