This cycle path is an exemplary example of what a successful cycle infrastructure looks like. It takes you from the beach town of La Arena to the center of Barakaldo (or the other way around). The path is not a bicycle path that has been removed from the car path with street paint, but rather it is an independent path with a surface that is easy to roll on. At the beginning (or end) of the path you drive through a quiet valley on a slight incline.

Unforgettable are those about 10 kilometers, which I drove on my Camino del Norte from Bilbao to the beach at La Arena. Ingeniously I found that one as a cyclist without crossing, parallel to the highway, led out of the city. Relaxed you can enjoy nature.
This is a successful traffic concept and should serve as a role model in this country.

Really an unbelievable cycle highway that leads through beautiful scenery! Most impressive was the bridge that leads almost over an entire valley and the motorway! For foot pilgrims I find it a bit boring to go here.
On Saturday it was very busy with Spanish racing cyclists, partly in large groups.
