To promote tourism, the "Witches' Trail" was signposted as a themed hiking trail. It provides information about transhumance and the dry grassland zones typical of this region. Picturesque and often spooky-looking grazing trees line the path. Wikipedia

The trail leads through the varied landscape of the Fischbach area, along traditional sheep pastures and under ancient giant trees. It offers a fantastic panoramic view of Klings, Diedorf, Empfertshausen, Andenhausen and Brunnhartshausen.

Nine stations with information boards and installations provide interesting information about the Rhön cultural landscape, its preservation through landscape management and the importance of grazing for flora and fauna. Even though the view and area are magically beautiful, the trail's namesake has nothing to do with a magician, but refers to the mountain witch butterfly. A board tells you how best to observe the rare butterfly and its caterpillars on the limestone meadows in the Thuringian Rhön. (Info Biosphere Reserve Rhön)
