Salt was obtained in Bad Kissingen for more than 1,000 years - a testament to this today. As part of the former salt extraction plants, this elaborate wooden construction served to evaporate the water. Through them, the rather low salt content of the Kissinger natural brine could be increased significantly. Salt production in Bad Kissingen was discontinued in 1968, but since then the graduation plant has played an important role in brine inhalation.
