                          "Martin Luther mentioned this place in his last letters to his wife. "Rissdorf just before Eisleben" left a lasting impression on him on January 28, 1546. Here, on his last journey from Wittenberg to Eisleben (the B 80 did not yet exist), he felt it particularly hard, something that can still be clearly seen today on foot or on two-wheelers: right next to this "Brachbornsberg" there is a cold corridor that stretches from here south along the village to Eisleben. Some people are surprised by it, just like Luther was back then: sudden, noticeable cold and a wintry east wind! He experienced this so intensely that it "wanted to turn his brain to ice". He reported this to his wife on February 1, 1546, who was worried about him in Wittenberg. Soon after, he even mentioned this impressive experience a second time!
