The fortress, founded on the opposite side of the Danube in 1219 and later a bishop's residence, is the ideal vantage point in Passau. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the old town of Passau and can look out over the Mariahilf monastery opposite as well as the Upper Austrian hills that surround Passau.
