It is all that remains of the Church of San Martino di Licciorno. The first written document is a notarial deed of 1298 in which the canon of Lavagna is instructed to proceed with the election of the rector in the vacant churches of Santa Maria de Supracruce and San Martino di Licciorno. Thus the rector Guglielmo di Borzone was elected. In-depth studies on the time of the first foundation have yet to be done; we can only put forward a few hypotheses: the planimetric typology could be medieval, in fact the dedications to San Martino di Tours generally date back to the Ambrosian age ranging from the fourth to the fifth century or to the Lombard period between the sixth and eighth centuries.
Local tradition wants San Martino di Licciorno as the first parish church in the area; with certainty in 1491 the church was dependent on the new parish church of Prato Sopralacroce. The altar of San Martino was rebuilt in 1768 when the tower with two new bells was also restored. Documents from 1366 mention the hamlets of Villa de Axereti and Villa de Lizurno, so the area was certainly inhabited, even if today, along the path, no remains of houses can be seen in its surroundings. The church was definitively abandoned in the mid-nineteenth century.
