The St. Johann town hall is the town hall of the Saarland state capital Saarbrücken. It was built as the town hall of the then independent city of St. Johann an der Saar between 1897 and 1900 according to the designs of Georg von Hauberrisser, who, among other things, also designed the New Town Hall in Munich. The St. Johann town hall is the largest neo-Gothic secular building in Saarland.

The Saarbrücken town hall was built between 1897 and 1900 in the neo-Gothic style by the architect Georg J. von Hauberrisser.
Von Hauberrisser also designed the town halls in Munich and Wiesbaden. The focus is on the 54 meter high tower, from which a carillon sounds every day at 3:15 p.m. and 7:19 p.m.
The original front is decorated with sandstone figures that represent the old craft stalls. There you will find a miner, an ironworker, a farmer, a brewer, a merchant and a tanner.
The figure of St. George with the dragon is not easy to interpret - it probably symbolizes the fight against evil.
The ballroom in the town hall is worth seeing. Around 1,000 wedding ceremonies take place here every year in festively decorated surroundings.
