Lake Turrite Cava (start browsing) is a basin created by a dam between 1937 and 1939. The body of water is fed by the stream of the same name, which arises from two branches that join just above Fabbriche di I pass. The waters arrive from the southernmost peaks of the Apuan Alps, namely Mount Bicocca and the Foce del Termine on Mount Matanna. The lake develops for 1200 m in length and 70 in width.

This artificial lake was created by damming the Turritecava stream in the late 1930s. Its protected location makes it an excellent refuge for birds. Canyoning is possible nearby on the Rio Selvano, a tributary of the Turritecava.
