The Zwanenburg estate is located in the town of Heeswijk Dinther. In the Middle Ages, Dinther had six fortified houses and Zwanenburg is the only one that remains. The area within the canals is unfortunately not open to the public, but outside of it you can stroll around and take a good look at the estate from a distance.

Zwanenburg is all that remains of the six medieval fortified houses that Dinther once had and dates from the 14th century.
Around 1400 a stone room was built on the site of the current house. The southeastern building mass of the current house dates from ca. 1480-1520. About 1620 an extension was added; the southwestern building mass. The northwestern building mass also dates from around 1620, but was extensively renovated at the end of the seventeenth century. In 1733 the house fell into disrepair, but was later restored. In 1850, the part with the empire arched windows, the northeastern building mass, was built; and in 1865 the farm, which was separate from the house, burned down and was rebuilt against the house. Between 1946 and 1953 there was a large-scale restoration of the main house. The attached farm was completely restored in 2008.
