"As fast as the wind"
The ostrich is a very fast runner, in the sprint he runs up to 70 km / h.
Even over long distances, it can maintain a speed of 65 kilometers per hour.
Even lions and the fast-paced cheetahs don't stand a chance against him.
"Eyes like a lynx"
Ostriches have excellent eyesight. You can see up to 3 km.
Thanks to the high position of the head and the huge eyes, the field of view is very far and wide.
For this reason, they are often found in the wild by other animal species, e.g. B. accompanied by zebras and antelopes, which feel very safe in the company of ostriches.
Breeding
In addition to numerous young ostriches, there are also several breeding animals that live in separate groups. The two proud roosters Lui and Sit lead three to four hens. You want to seduce your "ladies" with your imposing courtship behavior. If you are lucky, you will too. Anyone can imagine what happens then.
feeding
Our young animals receive a farm mix made from grain. Chicks and breeding animals receive pelleted feed, which a mill produces for us.
In addition, the animals eat a lot of green fodder in summer, which they pluck on the pasture themselves, and in winter they are fed hay as roughage.
It goes without saying that our feed is of animal origin without the addition of antibiotics, performance enhancers or protein components.
