In the 19th century there were still more than 40 mills in the Guldenbach valley from the source to the mouth, eight of them alone in the small district of Schweppenhausen. One of them is a former oil mill. It was in danger of falling into disrepair in the 1970s. Heinrich Zimmermann bought it, invested a lot of time and money and repaired the mill and residential building years later. Today you can visit the mill wheel and millstone and the estate, and rent the adjacent restored rooms, for example for wedding celebrations.
