The Marienkirche in Brandshagen is definitely worth a visit. It is one of the most beautiful and largest village churches in Northern Germany. It is a foundation of the Rügen prince Borante von Putbus, was built by the Ciestercians and first mentioned in a document in 1249. The church has a very rich interior and was restored in 1905-1906.

The church in Brandshagen cannot be reached directly via the street, but only via narrow footpaths. It is definitely worth a visit. Although it is not always open, it is very impressive from the outside alone and very detailed for a brick church. It's worth walking around once! Unfortunately, the ravages of time are also gnawing at this church and it is already crumbling in some places. Hope the church survives!

The Brandshagen church is one of the largest and most beautiful village churches in Western Pomerania. You can see this from afar when you drive past on the B96a, but you can also visit it; it is usually open daily from May to October.

In 2002, the Brandshagen St. Mary's Church turned 777 years old and was given two new bells to mark the occasion. In fact, it has been embellished, improved and renovated every year, because the people of Brandshagen love their church.
