The Spstellenberg is a beautiful hilly nature reserve in Salland. Beautiful flowering rhododendrons in spring, purple moors in August and when there is snow, like last winter, it is also fantastically beautiful. The striking white Palatine Tower stands on top of the Spoelenberg. It is part of Huis De Spisjesberg and was built in the years 1898-1910 by order of A.A.W. van Wulfften Palthe. The building was first intended as a hunting and holiday home, but Palthe eventually settled there himself.

This is a fantastic gravel strip with a beautiful view of the castle of Palthe. Unfortunately you can't cycle there, but the view from a distance is also beautiful.
