What an unusual place: a village that has disappeared, but whose church has survived through the ages. In 1555 the last inhabitants left Treben, partly they were able to cultivate their fields from the surrounding villages, partly the areas were redistributed by 1594. However, the church, whose oldest parts date back to the 12th century, was preserved. In 1739 even larger construction work took place, so it was continuously maintained and used even without a village.
