The Grajal bridge is located in the municipality of Colmenar Viejo, in the Community of Madrid (Spain). It stands on the upper course of the Manzanares River, next to the M-618 highway, which links the aforementioned town with Hoyo de Manzanares and Torrelodones. It was built in the Middle Ages, during the Muslim domination of the Iberian Peninsula. It is included within the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park.

The bridge was part of a military road, which linked Talamanca de Jarama with the Tiétar Valley, built by the Andalusian power to connect a series of watchtowers and citadels, with which the Muslim population faced the Christian incursions in the Middle Brand. . The closest to its enclave are those of Hoyo de Manzanares, known as La Torrecilla, and the watchtower of Torrelodones, which still stand.

These fortifications were erected between the 9th and 11th centuries, so the construction of the bridge can be dated to this period. From the same period are the Alcanzorla (Galapagar) bridges, over the Guadarrama River; del Pasadero (Navalagamella), on the Perales; from Talamanca de Jarama, on the homonymous river; and San Juan (Pelayos de la Presa), on the Alberche. All of them were integrated within the aforementioned military path.

The Grajal Bridge was the subject of a restoration in the 18th century, which partially altered its primitive appearance.
About five kilometers, also upstream, is the Batán Bridge, also of medieval origin, but built after the Christian conquest of the Middle March.
