The former Spoleto Norcia railway would have been an authentic jewel if it hadn't been dismantled, fortunately the layout has been recovered as a pedestrian and cycle path, the climb is barely perceptible, the landscape is very suggestive, the tunnels are the real gem of the route (the Carrareccia , it is more than a km long) and entering it has a certain effect because you are literally plunged into pitch darkness and even in summer it is cold, covering up and having at least one torch with you is essential. The galleries are inhabited by bats which, as you pass, soar in flight, but personally they have never created any problems for me
