The Frille parish includes four villages located in the three municipalities of Bückeburg, Petershagen and Minden. In addition, the municipality belongs to two different federal states. When the Principality of Schaumburg-Lippe lost its state autonomy in 1946 and the federal states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia were founded, only the village of Cammer and part of the village of Frille remained part of the newly founded district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony. The remaining villages and, since 1971, the entire village of Frille fell to what is now the district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia.
