    The Twannbach Gorge is one of the most beautiful in this region. The inspection costs CHF 2.00 and the proceeds are used to maintain the paths and protect this unique gorge.

          The entrance fee of a mere two francs for adults and one for kids is more than justifiable and guarantees that the gorge will remain accessible for future generations. The money is used for the maintenance and care of the network of paths along the Twannbach.

              The Twannbach Gorge begins at this point. And thus a great hike in an imposing landscape on hot summer days. Lake Biel tourism writes about it: The Twannbach flows through an almost untouched romantic gorge landscape with cascades and dreamy pools from Lamboing to Twann. Well-marked hiking trails lead from Magglingen over the Twannberg and from Prêles - mountain station of the Ligerz-Tessenbergbahn - through flowering meadows and shady forests down into the gorge. After around one and a half hours, the hiker has a breathtaking view of the famous wine-growing village of Twann, the blue lake, the picturesque St. Petersinsel and in the distance the snow-capped Alps. Good footwear and caution in damp, slippery areas are required to safely walk the hiking trail. The path must not be left in the nature reserve. There is an absolute driving ban on the canyon hiking trail. Bikers use the asphalt road winding down the southern slope of the Jura.
