The Mallebos was planted in the 80s and 90s in the polder Schiekamp near Spijkenisse.

The Mallebos is not completely accessible. The Mallebos is managed by Staatsbosbeheer and has a high nature value due to its natural banks, spawning bowls for fish and the nest wall for kingfishers. The most famous part of the forest is the inaccessible part of heron forest. Here a colony of blue herons has found its place and made a number of nests. The area is clearly visible from the Konijnendijk and Malledijk.

The Mallebos is a recreational area on the west side of the Dutch city of Spijkenisse. The area borders the Malledijk in the north and the Vierambachtenboezem in the east and south. The Mallebos lies mainly in the old area and polder Spijkenisse and Schiekamp, an area that was already inhabited before the 10th century. The varied deciduous forest was created in the 80s of the 20th century. Riding trails were constructed in 1997. It is approximately 52 hectares.

The Vogelenzangpark is located south of the Mallebos.
