Misaka Jinja is a small Shinto shrine on the Ancient Tosando Trail, in Achi Village, Southern Nagano prefecture. The Tosando is Japan's oldest national route. It was established during the Heian period by the imperial court in Kyoto, circa 1,300 years ago. The shrine lies is accessible by car. There is parking lot. From here the Ancient Tosando Trail leads to it's highest place, Misaka-toge Pass (1,569 m), before descending into the the Kiso Valley and merging with the Nakasendo in Nakatsugawa.
