In the years 1900 - 1904, a modern slaughterhouse was built for two million gold marks on the edge of Offenbach. The fine, colorful brickwork is reminiscent of the architecture of Northern Germany. The arrangement of the buildings guaranteed rational work processes, so that the Zurich slaughterhouse was built 5 years later after the plans of Offenbach.
