I was told that in earlier years the lake was visited by many people from Boxtel and the surrounding area, a lot and enjoyed bathing on hot days.

Eelven. Many people from Boxtel used to go swimming here. Now the silence reigns. The fen is full of beautiful water lilies in summer. "But water lilies are the death in the pot", according to conservationists "The pools are growing dense, the water is too rich in nutrients and landscaping is inevitable."
