"Converted pond in Altenkirchener Wiesental was inaugurated"
After almost five years, the first planning dates from 2014, the converted pond (ice pond) in Wiesental, the district town's large local recreation area, was inaugurated on Saturday (June 15, 2019) and handed over to the Angelsportverein (ASV) Altenkirchen. In addition to District Administrator Michael Lieber, the still incumbent mayor Heijo Höfer, MdL, and the first alderman of the association, Heinz Düber, attended the inauguration.
After the "Original Westerwald Alphorn Duo" with Hans Hammer and Guntram Kochhäuser had opened the ceremony, ASV chairman Karl-Heinz Fels welcomed the guests and briefly explained the system.
Anglers have been using the facility since the association was founded in 1953.
In recent years it has been necessary to desludge the pond system and partially rebuild it, says Fels. He thanked the companies involved, in particular Andreas Pohle from the Planeo planning office and the employees of the administrations involved. Afterwards the hunting horn players from Hegering Altenkirchen played.
