About the local history:

"Reichenbach Monastery - In 1082, the Hirsau Monastery was given the Reichenbach estate. This is the oldest written mention of a place in today's municipal area, the district of Kloster Reichenbach. At that time, monks were sent from Hirsau to the upper Murg Valley to set up a priory there and the monastery church was consecrated as early as 1085. Monks lived here according to the rule of St. Benedict until 1595, until Friedrich I of Württemberg incorporated the monastery into his duchy To this day, a majority of the inhabitants of Baiersbronn are members of a Protestant church. The monastery church, which is essentially Romanesque, still stands to this day."
