The juniper has many faces - and many legends that surround him. On this 5.5-kilometer circular walk you can discover the many facets of this evergreen tree, which still dominated large parts of the Bergisches Land 200 years ago.
For since the Middle Ages, the settlers here had cut down more and more forests to obtain fuel and lumber. Because the resulting meadow areas were intensively grazed, large heathland developed on which one of only a few plants was able to maintain its frugal juniper with its pointed needles.
