NABU Center for Ecology, Nature and Environmental Protection (ZÖNU).
The ZÖNU is located in the Elbauengemeinde book amidst landscape and nature reserves, about eight kilometers south of the old Hanseatic and today's stork city Tangermünde. In the ZÖNU there are changing exhibitions and interesting pictures during the live broadcast from the stork's nest. The multifaceted outdoor area with old-Bavarian peasant and Därbergarten, practical examples of nature conservation around the house and natural playground and clay oven invites you to linger and explore.
As a contribution to the promotion of nature adventure tourism in the biosphere reserve Flusslandschaft Elbe since May 1999, the gates of the NABU eco-barn book with haystacks and farm shop are open. By completing the quaint half-timbered barn, nature lovers, families with children, youth groups and cyclists are invited to enjoy pure nature in a relaxing atmosphere. The in-house bike rental gives the opportunity for beautiful relaxing hours, in a direct location to the Elbe cycle path and nature trail, in one of the most storchenreichsten regions of Germany. Also offered are target group-specific excursions and multi-day trips. In the NABU center is also the reception of the Dorfhotel book, an association of five private landlords, the Bucher restaurant and the NABU. As a result, guests of the Elbtalaue can, in addition to 30 haylofts in the NABU barn, be given an additional 34 beds in cozy houses.
