This cross is mentioned as early as 1661 and 1756. In a map from around 1780 it is shown as a wooden cross with the cloverleaf shaped bar ends without a body. The vernacular calls the cross ´s Härlikreuz. It was rebuilt in 1909 and re-consecrated by the parish priest Bernhard Rueß on April 25, 1909. Another renewal of the cross took place on the initiative of Eugen Schiele in 1968, the wood provided by the city administration. In addition to the existing wooden roof, the new cross was given a rear panel made of wood with a halo. It was set up by Eugen Schiele with the help of Meinrad Burth, Irndorf, and Eugen Sattler. The year 1968 is affixed to the cross stem. In 1997 Eugen Schiele and Albrecht Mayer thoroughly cleaned and straightened the Härlikreuz. In 2011 the body was repainted.
