In 2017, a total of 46km of cycling and walking trails opened up, which is only permitted for non-motorized traffic. As the Greenway follows a former railway line, there are hardly any gradients. All paved and frequented on weekends by families and occasional cyclists. In many places on the track you can rent bikes and use the shuttle bus. There are good rest stops on about half the distance in Kilmacthomas. Scenic pretty, only the short distance between Mount Congreve and Waterford leads along a busy national road and is a bit idle.
