In Wenningstedt lies the small idyllic village pond. A wooden jetty leads out to the small lake in the middle of the village. From the jetty you have a nice view of the Friesenkapelle at the lake and the Kampen lighthouse in the background. A popular photo opportunity not only for wedding couples. A pretty walkway goes all around the pond. In earlier times, the village pond had a different function: it served both as cattle potions and at the same time was washed in him the laundry of the inhabitants of the then small town. Compared to the North Sea on the doorstep, the Wenningstedter Dorfteich is only a small pond, in fact the lake with its two small islands is not so small, after all it has a size of about 300 x 100 meters.
