This house, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, is one of the oldest in the village. Initially designed for a notable family with independent infrastructure, it was inhabited by the lawyer Jules Henault. In 1933, Jules Lhoest set up his wheelwright workshop there, which he modernized with machines. Today, the Lhoest family maintains the property and runs the historic workshop.

This house is one of the oldest residences in the village. It would date from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Conceived for a family of notables, the house includes the infrastructures which made it possible to live in autonomy: vegetable garden, well, cistern, bread oven, cellars, salting room, hayloft, kennel and stables. The house was inhabited among others by lawyer Jules Henault (1854-1899), mayor of Fallais.

In 1933, Jules Lhoest, the last wheelwright in the village, bought the house in order to set up his wheelwright workshop and sheds for drying wood. A pioneer, he undertook to mechanize his workshop by machines connected by transmission shafts, powered by a gasoline engine, then by an electric machine from the Moës establishments.

Before the arrival of motorized vehicles, the wheelwright built and repaired anything that rolled: carts, carts, gallows, dumpers and wheelbarrows. A specialized carpenter, he also shaped the carriage doors of the imposing square trusses, the tool handles, spreaders and wooden harrows. Today, Mrs. and Mr. Willy Lhoest, sons of the master wheelwright, maintain the property and regularly run their ancestor's workshop.
