The vineyards in the Gewann Haufler, which were planted and cultivated from the 16th century onwards, were for a long time among the best in the Remstal thanks to their steep, sun-exposed location. After they, like all viticulture in the Lower Remstal, were abandoned at the end of the 19th century, the new cultivation of this section began in the early 1990s. Since then, the walls have been built and maintained with the support of many volunteers. The Neustadt organic winery Häßermann has been managing the vineyard since 2016, cultivating varieties such as Trollinger, Riesling and Kerner. In addition, the Haufler vineyard enriches the cultural landscape in the Lower Remstal and is an important habitat for heat-loving animals and plants.

The cycle path between Waiblingen Hegnach and Neckarrems has been permanently closed since 2024 due to erosion and landslides. A new route is currently being developed. See ADFC (German Cyclists' Association):
