t cannot be ruled out that the first chapel dedicated to Saint Peter was already on the Kirchberg when Heinrich I fled to Püchau. A new church was built around 1565, of which the lower quadrangular part of the tower has survived to this day. After centuries later the structural condition of the old church building could no longer be preserved, a new building was built, which was inaugurated in 1869. The nave and the upper octagonal part of the tower were then given their current appearance.
