Contemporary bronze work: "A FLAME FOR MEMORY".
Inauguration May 31, 2008 in the presence of the military and civil authorities of the Lorraine region, the children of the village as well as the flag bearers of the regiments present (79th, 69th, 26th Infantry) during the battle of Morhange, August 20, 1914.
This work, symbolizing human masks, pays tribute to soldiers and civilians injured or killed during the two wars. It highlights the infantryman of 1914 like that of the Maginot line but also that of the civilian population who suffered the German occupation.
The effigy of the infantryman is that of a soldier of the 69th Infantry Regiment who was seriously wounded during the combat, picked up by the Bavarians, treated and sent to a prison camp. The descendants of this soldier came to attend the ceremony.
