Something strange is going on with Boswachterij Dorst. The unsuspecting walker encounters strange structures in unexpected places. Is there a stable near the clay pits? Or is it a vantage point? And that crazy tower that looks like a big vase full of holes, what is it for? And hey, that's like a roller coaster – before you know it the kids have climbed on top of the structure and are running over the wooden planks.
These are 'follies': architecturally silly structures that have no other function than to surprise you. They have been there for twelve years now, and the regular walker is used to them.
Curious about this silly architecture? Then follow the Kunstroute, a walking and cycling route along the five follies. Length: About 13 km. Duration: Cycling about 1 hour, walking about 2.5 hours
